Our new Library
On 12 January La Récoltes Library’s doors opened, this new addition to our clubhouse gives our residents the opportunity to relax, catch up on some reading and to socialize.
Getting the Library set up was a huge undertaking, however Maggie Joubert and her team Carine van Vuuren, Elbie du Toit and Lorna Bredenham was up for the task and the end result was a well put together library that can be enjoyed by all our residents.
The library operates on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 09:00 - 12:00
Block D Launch
On 26 January La Récolte launched Block D.
This grand occasion was celebrated with a selection of food and snacks.
Our developer Jaco Steyn started the proceedings, followed by our Chairman, Eugene Jooste, Jessica Kolver from C4 Property, Western Province Catering, Van Biljon Nursing and MHI Attorneys.
Social Events at La Récolte
Since the opening of our Clubhouse La Vue we have arranged quite a few social events, giving our residents the opportunity to indulge and be entertained!
Music
On 24 January CCH Production’s Singing Chef’s entertained us with their first performance. Coffee, tea and a sweet treat was served by WPC. We are looking forward to see more of them this year!
Residential Talent
Talented Poet Sunette du Plessis entertained our residents with humor and poetry at La Vue. Snacks and drinks were served by WPC.
Indulge
At La Récolte we create occasions for our residents to socialize, and nothing brings people together like good food!
Western Province Catering hosted a scone and coffee special, followed by a milkshake day at La Vue. "Food tastes better when you eat it in the company of family or friends"
Recipe of the Month
Watermelon and Feta Salad
Ingredients
▢ ½ cup red-wine vinegar
▢ 2 teaspoons honey
▢ ¼ teaspoon salt
▢ ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
▢ ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
▢ 5 cups cubed seedless watermelon
▢ 1 English cucumber, chopped
▢ 3 Rounds feta cheese, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
▢ ½ cup thinly sliced red onion
▢ 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
Method
▢ Whisk vinegar, honey, salt and pepper in a small bowl and gradually whisk in oil until completely incorporated.
▢ Combine watermelon, cucumber, feta and onion in a large bowl.
▢ Gently stir in 1/2 cup of the vinaigrette.
▢ Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes or up to 2 hours.
▢ Just before serving, gently stir in mint; drizzle with the remaining vinaigrette.

The Retro Rewind Band pay tribute to this decade that not only brought you The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan but also tributes to the influential guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix.

Our Gardens
Gabriel Schoeman Garden Services has been appointed at La Récolte.
Gabriel and his team work at our Village on Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s.
We are also privileged to have residents that spend a lot of time and money in beautifying the gardens around the village and we all look forward to enjoying this.
